Afternoon Walk

I am one of those persons who love being at home in a comfy pyjama all day long. At the same time, I love the outdoors. When you get up of the sofa and get dressed to go out to discover the city is such a nice and peaceful activity to do. But when you are visiting your hometown is even better! You have the chance to see what is different, what changed in the past month or what you remember from your childhood.

Spread all over the city of Figueira da Foz, I have memories of when I was a little girl. In the last month, I did a small trip around one of my favorite places in the city as a kid:  the municipal garden.

When I was 5 years old (15 years ago), my grandparents used to take me to the garden so I can feed the pigeons, wich is so funny for a kid to do. Where is now the kids playing park was a small lake with ducks and I was obsessed with them, I never understood why. Back them, people used to be at the park, watch the birds, play with the kids but nowadays I saw people just cross the park to get from point A to B. They didn’t stop, look around, sit for a bit, look at the seagulls giving you “that eye contact” (like keep walking or you will regret it). It makes me sad when something changes and is not for the best…

PLUS: was teachers’strike, so a lot of students were there but just to go to the playground make fun of when they were young and used to play there and that pictures for Instagram saying: “So old for this #playground” or “No school day #luky” and walk away to go some place else.
